Elementary School Counselor
2004 to present
I have worked as an elementary school counselor in Pearland for the last eleven years. I teach guidance lessons on the six character traits and also teach GRIT vocabulary and lessons. I hold group counseling sessions for a variety of topics from divorce to anger management.

I have spent the last five years doing contract counseling for two different agencies. I have experience with children of all ages and adults. I have worked with clients from CPS mandated counseling to those who have spent time in in-patient facilities with a variety of diagnosis.

2002-2004
I majored in counseling at Prarie View earning my Master of Arts Degree. After completing my degree plan I took an extra class and an extra internship in order to become an LPC intern. I then accumulated 3000 hours of counseling experience and took the NCE, a national exam to become an LPC . Two years later while working as a school counselor and doing contract counseling work I took on the task of becoming an LPC Supervisor by completing 48 hours of specialty training.
University of Houston
​1990 to 1994
I attended the main campus of U of H and completed my Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1994. That summer I sat for the Texas Teacher's EXCET exam, passed and got hired on in HISD as a third grade teacher and then as an art teacher. I worked in HISD for ten years before returning to school to become a counselor.
